Endeavors by the Tulare Basin Wildlife Partners (TBWP) to create and implement the Tulare Basin Regional Conservation Plan complement several existing partner planning efforts:
San Joaquin Valley Greenprint
The San Joaquin Valley Greenprint compiles information describing the lands, waters and living resources of the San Joaquin Valley region and the trends affecting them. The goal of the “greenprint” is to serve as a guide to local, state, federal and private sector decision-makers as they make choices about the future of the Valley’s resources.
Central Valley Joint Venture Tulare Basin Plan Update 2005
The Central Valley Joint Venture plan update calls for restoring almost 30,000 acres of wetland and riparian habitat for waterbirds and songbirds in the Tulare Basin.
Recovery Plan for Upland Species of the San Joaquin Valley
This recovery plan covers 34 species of plants and animals that occur in the San Joaquin Valley of California.
Tulare County General Plan 2030
This update to the general plan, approved in August 2013, provides guidance for future decisions concerning land use and resource conservation in Tulare County.
Tulare Basin Integrated Regional Water Management Planning
Overseen by the California Department of Water Resources and funded primarily through Proposition 84, this planning process is emphasizes regional collaboration for projects that help California meet its demands for agricultural, municipal, industrial, and environmental water needs now and into the future.
Kern County Valley Floor Habitat Conservation Plan
A mitigation plan proposal, drafted in 2006 by the USFWS and linked to the USFWS's recovery plan for upland species.
Metropolitan Bakersfield Habitat Conservation Plan (MBHCP)
This plan is an on-going program to address the effects of urban growth on state and federally protected plant and animal species within the Metropolitan Bakersfield general plan area.
Riparian Bird Conservation Plan
This plan is a collaborative effort between the Riparian Habitat Joint Venture and California Partners in Flight and was developed in 2004 to guide conservation policy and action on behalf of California's riparian habitats and wildlife.
