Sequoia to the Sloughs (S2S) Watershed Program - Kick-off Meeting on Tuesday, July 7th from 1-3 PM

Thanks to a generous WaterSMART Cooperative Watershed Management Program grant from the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, the Tulare Basin Watershed Partnership is excited to announce the kick-off meeting for the Sequoias to the Sloughs (S2S): A Watershed Assessment and Stewardship Initiative. We want you to be involved, and we encourage you to share this information with others who may be interested in attending the virtual session!

 This kick-off meeting will include: 

  • An overview of the project’s framework, including: geographic scope (Tule River and Deer Creek watersheds), timeline, primary goals, larger purpose, deliverables, and the roles of key advisory/technical groups
  • Information on how you/your organization can engage with and shape the S2S initiative
  • A discussion among attendees and project partners about the initiative's intent and potential to:
    • Enhance long-term Subbasin and regional resilience and vitality with a more unified vision of a desired future that connects the upper watershed and valley floor
    • Connect and support past and present water, agricultural viability, habitat, flood management, and socio-economic development efforts
    • Build the capacity for long-term collaboration and more integrated solutions
